The 49-meter-long Dahabiya Escaleeh was built in 2023 and has been operating between Luxor and Aswan since autumn 2024. It features just eight double cabins and two suites, all located on the main deck, accommodating a maximum of 20 guests. This makes it exceptionally spacious, as Dahabiyas of this size typically have more cabins.
Unlike many "pseudo" Dahabiyas, which are motorized (and thus generate noise), the Dahabiya Escaleeh has no engines. It travels under sail, drifting downstream when necessary, or is discreetly towed by a support boat in calm conditions.
Furthermore, it is equipped with solar panels that cover a portion of its energy needs, making the vessel an environmentally friendly and sustainable travel experience.
The ship is operated by the Artika Wadi Kiki Hotel in Aswan, one of the first typical Nubian hotel complexes built in recent years south of Aswan on the banks of the Nile.

The cabins on the Dahabiya Escaleeh, featuring large windows, are simply but comfortably furnished and are larger than average. The beds are made up with Egyptian cotton linens.
All cabins have individually controlled air conditioning, a spacious private bathroom with shower/toilet and high-quality towels, and ample wardrobe space. The two suites are located at the stern of the ship and feature large panoramic windows offering views of the river. Each suite also has a private balcony directly over the water.
The suites are furnished with double beds, while of the eight standard cabins, four have two single beds and four have one double bed each.
